This isn't news to anyone, but there's a lot of skincare brands around. Honestly, there's too many. Especially, when there's a steady stream of product copy and pasting going around.
With so many brands and so many products, it's rare to find one that you can actually trust with every single product they bring out. A brand that's the equivalent to the friend you have on speed-dial. You know the one, who's always down for a problem-solving call and will drop everything to rush over with baked goods and chocolate buttons when you're freaking out.
If Medik8 were a friend, this is exactly the type of friend it would be. Medik8 are a brand who deliver serious skincare with their super simple to understand CSA Philosophy. That's vitamin C and SPF in the day and vitamin A at night.
It's an effective and do-able routine we can all get on board with. Their latest launch is the perfect addition to any skincare regime and its really captured my attention. Keep scrolling to find out why its my new must-have for glowing skin.
When it comes to daily exfoliation, I'm usually an AHA tonic, twice-a-day kind of girl. My skin is pretty resilient to most ingredients, so swiping this all over my face doesn't wreak any havoc. Or, so I thought.
The thing about those fan-fave AHA/BHA tonics, is that they're pretty strong stuff. It's great because they really do work but they can easily end up being overused. Twice a week is probably a better idea than twice a day as they can lead to sensitised skin as they penetrate so deeply and can end up disrupting healthy skin barriers.
Enter Medik8, with a solution. PHAs (polyhydroxy acids) are where it's at for gentle but effective exfoliation and Press & Glow uses gluconolactone to get the job done. As the molecules are larger they focus on the upper layers of the skin and slowly release to avoid irritation, whilst also adding hydration.
That's enough science, you want to know about the results right?
I made the switch to Press & Glow and I'm in awe. As I said, I didn't think my AHA use was doing anything different to my skin, but now that I've swapped it out, you can find my face underneath the dictionary definition of "glow."
Pretty sure the entire texture and tone of my skin has changed, it's juicier, more balanced and just so damn radiant. So much so, that my mum and best friend noticed and wanted the secret. So, sometimes you don't even know if you're over-exfoliating until you stop. I might be a beauty editor but there's probably only about 5 products that have made it into my hall of fame and I will actually repeatedly buy and this one has made the cut.
