Having built one of the most iconic fashion brands in the world, Manolo Blahnik has much to celebrate as the brand turns 50 – and he is doing it in style. The designer has today launched a fascinating virtual exhibition which delves into the history of the brand, telling the backstories of some of the most well-known designs and the women who have worn them.

The interactive exhibition, 'A New Way of Walking' – which you can explore here – features five immersive virtual rooms, which each explores different elements of the brand. It reveals, for the first time, the breadth of the house’s archives and aims to highlight the constant innovation within.

"Exploring an extraordinary collection of original drawings, the experience unveils Blahnik’s unique artistic flair, the intricacy invested in each design, his humour, and the remarkable scope of his cultural references," the brand explained.

The rooms are; Palette, The Seventies, Friendships, Gold and Family. Each highlights different pivotal moments in the 50-year history of the brand and celebrates the designs and people associated with it.

"I want this to be a space where others can learn and feel inspired to create," Blahnik said of the exhibition. "It’s very important to me personally, that even those who can’t buy my shoes are able to feel a connection to Manolo Blahnik and who we are, ‘A New Way of Walking’ offers that."

The exhibition has been created in celebration of the brand's anniversary, but it will be an ongoing project that will continue to expand and be added to, something which the team hopes will be a constant source of inspiration for fans and followers.

"This is only the beginning of a very exciting journey and one we hope will be explored and enjoyed by our loyal followers for years to come," said CEO Kristina Blahnik.
