The Met Gala was back to its best last night, returning to its usual scheduling on the first Monday of May, where fashion's finest pulled out all the stops to embrace The Gilded Age and the glamour of Old Hollywood. The event brought out the biggest stars in fashion, including Kate Moss and Kim Kardashian, but also saw a number of rising stars attend. Of particular note was the cast of Euphoria, many of whom took their first turn up those famous steps.

The young stars of the HBO show have been making a real impact of late, landing prominent fashion campaigns, appearing on catwalks and pretty much taking over the front row, so it was no surprise to see so many of them at the event.

Sydney Sweeney, Maude Apatow and Jacob Elordi were reunited at the museum on the night, all making a real splash with their ensembles.

Sweeney, who was dressed by Tory Burch, made a particular statement, changing her look while she was on the red carpet. The actress arrived in a strapless, corseted, white ballgown by Tory Burch, which was then stripped into a mini dress.

Elordi meanwhile looked dapper in a black tuxedo, which featured unique embellishments, and Apatow embraced gilded glamour in an off-the-shoulder black gown by Miu Miu with fringing and 1920s-inspired hair.

Of course, there were a few of Euphoria's most famous faces missing at last night's event. Zendaya – who usually lands herself on the Met Gala best dressed list – had a scheduling conflict this year, so was unable to attend. In the past, she has created more than a few memorable moments at the Met Gala, including a turn as Cinderella.

The actress revealed a few weeks ago that she would not be attending this year and, after also missing the event in 2021, she promised she would return eventually.

"I'm gonna disappoint my fans here, but I will be working," she told Extra. "Your girl's gotta work and make some movies. So I wish everyone the best...I’ll be back eventually…and yeah, I’ll keep delivering in other ways [on other red carpets]."

Even without her though, there was plenty of excitement at the event. For more from this year's Met Gala, see our best dressed round-up here, and every single look this way.
