A four-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier called Star is struggling to find a loving home. Can you help?

Despite being so young, Star is eligible for the RSPCA's Elderly Animal Rehoming Scheme due to prior medical difficulties. This particular scheme has a number of different benefits for adopters in the Halifax, Huddersfield and Bradford areas.

Staff describe Star as being a “bright spark” who loves to play games with anyone who has a few minutes to spare. He will need plenty of mental stimulation at his new home.

The team at RSPCA's Halifax, Huddersfield, Bradford and District Animal Centre, where Star is currently up for adoption, say he is “a clever, affectionate dog, who would like a home where someone is around most of the day to keep him company.”

Staff say Star would benefit from living in a home where he is the only pet, so that he can have “all the cuddles to himself.” He would also be suited to living with secondary school children and above.

"Star enjoys his walks, so a fairly active home would be perfect for him. He walks nicely on the lead, and loves to stop and say hello to people he meets," they add.

It is worth noting that he should not be exercised off lead and could benefit from continuing his training in his new home, as well as learning to socialise with other dogs. The RSPCA team can share further advice on this.

If you can offer Star his perfect forever home, please contact their team on 01422 365628 or email them via enquiries@rspcahalifaxhuddersfieldbradford.org.uk.
