If there's one thing And Just Like That is missing (well, alongside Miranda Hobbes' morals) it's more Stanford Blatch. The Sex And The City character and Carrie Bradshaw's ultimate confidante was played by Willie Garson, who sadly passed away in September 2021 of pancreatic cancer, age 57.

Before his death, Willie had filmed three episodes of And Just Like That as Stanford. He was initially meant to star in all ten episodes, but was written out in episode four when he told Carrie about a sudden work-related move to Tokyo via a handwritten letter.

Now, the show's creator Michael Patrick King has revealed the original storyline intended for Stanford, and where fans could expect the character to be now. "Stanford's character always had a borderline career as a manager, and we were like going to explore the fact that it wasn't a real career," he told Variety.

"It was going to be Carrie and him, feeling the shifts. Anthony [Marentino, Stanford's husband played by Mario Cantone] and him were probably going to have split anyway."

The creator continued, "Then we would keep both of them in, and everybody would be relieved that they were divorced because it was not pleasant for anybody," he added. "But there was a series of really fun, flirty, hilarious confidante scenes with Carrie that I loved. That old, old, very specific chemistry that Carrie and Stanford have, which is based totally on the uniqueness of Willie and Sarah Jessica's history."

We would have loved to have seen that.
