Stacey Solomon admits 'it's very upsetting' as she gives insight into family Christmas at home

TV icon Stacey Solomon has given fans a glimpse into her Christmas at home with the family, revealing an aspect she finds "very upsetting".

The 35-year-old appeared on the latest episode of The One Show, where she discussed the festive season with presenters Alex Jones and Roman Kemp. Sitting alongside Doctor Who writer Russell T Davies, Stacey was asked what she watches on TV at Christmas.

Roman asked: "Stacey, Christmas Day this year, who controls the remote control in your household?"

Appearing disheartened by her current setup, she replied sarcastically: "Oh, I'm sorry to say Russell, but it's mainly kids' TV in our house. It's very upsetting. I mean lovely for a couple of minutes of the day."

As well as sharing further insight into her family Christmas with her husband, Joe Swash, and their children, Stacey will host a brand new Crafty Christmas series.

In the show, which will air on Wednesday, 18 December, at 9 p.m. on BBC One, Stacey will create a range of Christmas gifts and decorations to hopefully bring joy without spending too much.

Some of her festive ideas include angel tree toppers and a space-saving Christmas tree, in addition to this, she will also share personalised presents such as gingerbread body butter and no-sew cushions.

But the fun doesn't stop there as she mentioned on The One Show, this year, Stacey will be throwing a party at her grandma Gwen's care home to provide the residents with much-needed festive cheer.

To execute her idea, the mother-of-five has called in the reinforcements to help pull the party together, including her husband Joe and their children, as well as Stacey's sister Jemma and her Sort Your Life Out co-star Dilly Carter.

Tasked with creating a winter wonderland in the care home, they will also hang Stacey's homemade decorations up in time for those who live and work there to enjoy.

Telling Roman and Alex about how it went, she said: "Grandma Gwen was so excited we were coming to her care home! She was over the moon.

"My grandma is just the most amazing woman. She's 96 this month," she added: "So when we said we'll come to her care home, she was absolutely delighted."

The One Show airs Mondays-Fridays at 7pm on BBC One.
