Spotlight on: Hair serums

·1-min read

You probably use a serum as part of your skincare routine, but what about your haircare regime too?

Your tresses deserve just as much love as your skin, and these wonder products should be included in your haircare ritual to give your locks some extra TLC.

Samah Lakha, founder of Samah Essentials, has given us the lowdown on the benefits of hair serums and why they’re an important step in any haircare routine.

“Hair serum strengthens and hydrates hair, which in turn prevents split ends, protects hair from damage (UV, pollution, and heat), adds shine, and allows for healthy hair growth,” she explains. “Incorporating a hair serum into your routine is essential to keep your hair healthy and hydrated. Your hair needs to be moisturised just like your skin does!

“With regular use, you will see faster hair growth, reduced frizz, fewer split ends, and glossier locks.”

Hair serums can be applied to damp hair before styling, as they will protect strands from heat damage, and/or on dry hair after styling as a finishing oil for a healthy, glossy shine.

Samah Essentials has launched its Nourishing Hair Serum, an all-natural and organic formula which reduces frizz, hydrates, and strengthens hair. Samah recommends warming one to three drops of the serum in your palms and running through the mid-lengths and ends of your damp or dry hair.

The serum, as well as the beauty brand’s Revitalising Hair Oil, is also cruelty-free, vegan, and comes in sustainable, plastic-free packaging.

Other products to check out include Aesop’s Tame Hair Serum, Liz Earle’s Botanical Shine Nourishing Hair Oil, and No.7 Bonding Oil by Olaplex, all of which tackle flyaway strands and frizz.
