Spectacular Aerial Dance Performance Celebrates 50 Years Of BMW's Iconic HQ

BMW celebrated the 50th anniversary of their stylish Munich HQ with an amazing aerial dance performance. The highlight of the festivities were twelve vertical dancers, from the US dance company BANDALOOP who spectacularly transformed the BMW Headquarters into a 100-metre-high stage to showcase their terrifyingly acrobatic moves. Melecio Estrella, Artistic Director and Choreographer BANDALOOP said her dancers took “inspiration” from the iconic modernist landmark’s “curvature” and the firm’s efforts to create a “livable” world for future generations. The Karl Schwanzer-designed building’s has been a feature of the Munich skyline since 1972 when it was completed ahead of the city hosting the Olympics. BMW workers moved into the building, which was designed to resemble a four cylinder car engine, the following year.
