It's been a pretty busy awards season for Taylor Swift, who just scooped another award (this time for Best Pop Album) at the iHeartRadio Music Awards.
And as she accepted her speech via video link, her hair was very noticeably darker. Like, brunette-darker? Which led me to think - is TayTay growing out her blonde balayage and moving away from her platinum past, towards a more brunette-y future?
Her usually curly fringe was blow-dried and shiny, and while in the past it has reflected sandy blonde shades, during her speech it looked much closer to a light chestnut (or as I like to refer to it, butterscotch brunette). And her lengths (while still sort of blonde-looking) were plaited and pinned into a milkmaid braid situ, which added to the overall effect of turning our Taytay into a brunette.
Compare the look to her sandy blonde mermaid hair at the BRITs, which looked wayyyy lighter. And Taylor's been pretty experimental lately as it goes - she's tried a balayage shag, dabbled in a mini-fringe, tried poker straight lengths and even cowgirl braids.
In her speech, Taylor
"Folklore was an album that I made...in the very beginning of the pandemic, I started writing it, and I just feel like it became sort of an emotional life-raft for me to pour all of my feelings into."
She also thanked her fans for making the album what it is, saying:
"You really wrapped your arms around it, the way that some day we'll get to wrap our arms around each other when we see each other again, so I'm sending you the biggest hugs...I love you"
You can watch the whole speech (and marvel at her hair) below.
Stop it Taylor, I'm gonna cry.
