Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas are using their social media platforms to support the Black Lives Matter movement, and to take a stand against racism and police brutality.
On Saturday, the married couple shared photos and video clips on their Instagram accounts which showed them attending a Black Lives Matter protest. Turner captioned her post, "No justice, no peace #BlackLivesMatter," and was photographed holding a handmade sign which read, "White Silence is Violence."
Jonas also shared snaps from the protest, and captioned his post, "Black Lives Matter. ❤️." According to Entertainment Tonight Canada, Jonas and Turner reportedly attended the protest in Mammoth Lakes, California, on Saturday, along with their friends, Greg Garbo and Paris Carney.
Earlier in the week, Turner wrote on Instagram:
"My heart is heavy. I stand in solidarity with those speaking out against racism and fighting for justice and equality. Silence is not an option. While my voice is not one that needs to be heard, I want to highlight some of those we should listen to —
Jonas also shared several posts in support of the Black Lives Matter movement, and paid tribute to George Floyd, who was tragically killed when a police officer knelt on his neck. Jonas wrote, "Heartbroken again at the news of another man’s life senselessly being taken. We MUST do better. Text “FLOYD” to 55156 and sign the petition. #JusticeForGeorgeFloyd."
