Sophie Turner has opened up about the reason why she declined a party invite from Kendall Jenner, and the whole things sounds very awkward indeed.

Appearing on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Sophie recalled what happened when Kendall invited her to a Met Gala afterparty - with the Game Of Thrones actress instead deciding to turn her down. Yikes.

Still, Sophie explained that her reason for rejecting Kendall actually came down to being too starstruck aaand basically just freaking out. So, yeah, quite relatable really.

The 26-year-old told viewers, "She was at the Met, and I love the Kardashians. But I think she’s, like, so gorgeous in real life, and I was so struck by her beauty, and she invited me to … this low-key afterparty. She went, like, 'Do you want to come?' And I just went, 'No, no, I don’t.' And I’m like, 'Why? Why do I do this to myself?'"

Sophie went on to add that she instead headed home to get into bed and eat pasta, saying, "I was like, 'Could be somewhere else right now, but I’m not.'" Both sound like dreamy options, tbh.

So, hey, the celebs might be used to brushing shoulders with other rich and famous types at all kinds of glamorous events, but it turns out they have just as many awkward moments as us.

The actress continued, telling host Jimmy that she's still not used to crossing paths with other big names, explaining, "I can’t quite fathom that I’m actually invited to these things and I’m not, like, a competition winner, you know?

"So, I mean, every celebrity I come into contact with, I act up or say something stupid. 'And recently, if a celebrity interacts with me, I immediately shut them down and I’m like, I don’t want anything to do with you.' And secretly I’m like, 'Oh, my God!'"

Well, there's always next year, right Sophie?
