Sommer Ray has been tapped to front the new ingestibles beauty brand Imaraïs.

The influencer, who has 26.5 million Instagram followers, has teamed up with Aaron Hefter, who is the co-founder of Nutrabolics, and attorney Felicia Hershenhorn on the beauty brand, which has been certified by PETA.

The first drop from Imaraïs is a vegan skin vitamin gummy called Glow, which features ingredients such as vegan squalane and marine algae, and a trademarked vitamin C formula called Activated-C.

Ray told WWD that she was approached by Hershenhorn during the Covid-19 pandemic and asked if she wanted to be a part of Imaraïs, which had been in development since 2019.

"I'm a firm believer that beautiful skin comes from like the inside. This is something I believe in and something I want to get behind," she said during a Zoom call with the outlet.

Hershenhorn credited the pandemic for helping her and Hefter connect with the social media star.

"The pandemic has been really terrible for a lot of people, but it's allowed Aaron and I to connect with (Ray) on such an intimate level," she said of the venture, which has been self-funded.

Pre-orders for the skin gummy Glow, priced at $49 (£35) for a one-month supply, open on Friday, and an official launch will take place on 21 June.
