One of the most exciting, and stressful, moments in life is when you move into a new house! And when you're a star and you've become famous and banked the money to go with it, that new house is likely to be palatial property. But what happens if you find yourself unwittingly sharing a home with things that go bump in the night? These celebrities all claim to have lived in a haunted house...

Demi Lovato told Buzzfeed in 2013 that they shared their home with a ghost at their house in Texas, who they saw on multiple occasions. Demi said: "My house in Texas is so ridiculously haunted. Not by a bad spirit, but a little girl. I think her name is Emily."

The supermodel once gave Architectural Digest magazine a tour of her English mansion. During the visit, Schiffer revealed that a medium told her that there are ghosts in her property. Claudia said: "She told us that the ghosts are lovely. No one needs to be scared”.

Keanu Reeves and his grandmother once saw a very dapper ghost however the actor can’t get the figure out of his mind. He said: “I was living in New Jersey when I saw and felt this ghost. I remember just staring at this suit, which had no body or legs in it as it came into the room before disappearing. “It was a double-breasted suit in white, and I looked at my nanny, who was just as shocked as me. I still see the figure in my dreams.”

“I once lived in the most haunted house in America”, were Cage's words in an interview with The Daily Mail newspaper. The 'Ghost Rider' star has a fascination with paranormal activity, and in 2007 he decided to buy the New Orleans LaLaurie Mansion, known for being haunted as it once belonged to notorious 19th century serial killer Madame LaLaurie. He said: "I bought it in 2007, figuring it would be a good place in which to write the great American horror novel. I didn't get too far with the novel."

Bella Thorne once saw a figure of an old woman in her bedroom who then stepped inside her closet. She said: "I panicked and ran out of bed and swung open my closet door only to see she was in there, but she was gone. I was sure I had seen her ghost! It was really freaky."

Matthew McConaughey revealed that when he first moved into his Hollywood home, he was visited by an older woman. McConaughey eventually came to call the female spectre Madame Blue. When he first heard the ghost he armed himself with a baseball bat as he thought there was an intruder. Eventually, the actor and the ghost got on. He said: “She has no qualms with me. We get along just fine, she’s a cool ghost. Maybe me being naked all the time is why we get along!”

Alba was attacked by a ghost at the age of 17, as her family slept. The paranormal experience has never left her. Jessica said: "Something definitely took the covers off me and I definitely couldn't get off the bed, and then, once I did, I screamed, ran to my parents' room and I don't think I spent many nights in that house ever again!"

During an appearance on ‘The Ellen Degeneres Show’, the ‘Eternals’ actress revealed that some of her London-based mansion staff, told her they have witnessed a lot of strange goings on which cannot be explained. A piano playing by itself, lights turning on and off, and windows and doors opening and closing, are just some of the paranormal phenomenon that has occurred. Salma said: "I have seen some of it.” Her daughter Valentina Paloma Pinault also revealed she has seen “actual things” occur.

Alyson Hannigan battled numerous supernatural beings in cult TV show 'Buffy The Vampire Slayer'. But it seems she also had a ghostly encounter at her old LA home. Speaking back in 2003 to the San Francisco Gate, she said: "I have a ghost in my house. I don't think he died there because there's a law in LA that when you buy a house, if somebody's died there they have to disclose that. And nobody did." She added that the spectre was "very friendly".

The British singer started witnessing terrifying things right after she moved to her Sussex home. In 2012, a close friend of the music star - who now lives in LA - told The Sun newspaper that she kept “hearing things” and that she was not walking around the house on her own because it “gave her the creeps”.
