Creatures of all shapes and sizes have been enjoying pumpkin treats in the lead up to Halloween. Animals in zoo's in both the UK and USA were seen enjoying pumpkins filled with their favourite snacks. In the UK, Edinburgh Zoo treated their large hairy armadillo, Diogo, and sun bears Rotana and Babu to their favourite treats which were hidden inside hollowed out pumpkins. While over at West Midland Safari Park treats such as insects for the meerkats, leafed branches for the giraffes and meat for the tigers were also hidden inside carved pumpkins. Lions, rhinos and lemurs were also seen inquisitively investigating pumpkins left by keepers at ZSL Whipsnade Zoo. Whilst over at Brookfield Zoo in Illinois, sulcata tortoises, a prehensile-tailed porcupine, and Hani and Kartik, the zoo’s two sloth bears all seemed to enjoy their Halloween treats, Pumpkins were also given to Brutus and Titus, the zoo’s African lions, which were filled with bones and meat.
