Smirnoff launches hard seltzer cans in two fruity flavours

Ready-to-drink canned cocktails have been revolutionary for picnic and BBQ drinking, for days in the park and simply for super easy home celebrations.

Fans of a canned cocktail will be pleased to hear that Smirnoff has launched a new hard seltzer range, with all of the convenience of a can and refreshing fruity flavours, as well as low sugar, low calorie credentials.

Coming in two flavours - subtly sweet Raspberry & Rhubarb and zesty Orange & Grapefruit - the new seltzers are made from a mix of Smirnoff No.21 Premium Vodka, sparkling water and natural fruit flavours.

The 250 ml cans of fizzing natural fruit flavours seltzers are 72 calories per 250ml serving.

Smirnoff reports that a 250ml serving of Smirnoff Seltzer contains 54% less calories than a regular 175ml glass of wine and 49% less calories than a 330ml bottle of beer.

Sarah Shimmons, Global Marketing Director for Smirnoff, said in a press release launching the new drinks: “Smirnoff has a long legacy of innovation, so we’re thrilled to bring the new range of seltzers to the UK. After seeing the trend of hard seltzers soar in the US, we’re delighted to offer consumers refreshing tasting Smirnoff Seltzers, at 72 calories per 250ml serving. We are excited to launch in the UK, just as the summer begins.”


Smirnoff Hard Seltzers are available now from Sainsbury’s and Tesco, and from Waitrose from 8 June onwards (RRP £1.80 per can).
