A single 28-year-old man from West Philadelphia chose an unconventional route to try and find love: putting himself out there on a billboard.

Dave Kline, a data manager, paid over $1,000 to rent a billboard, which will hopefully result in him no longer being single, ABC affiliate WPVI reported.

The large colorful sign currently hangs in his neighborhood and features an image of a smiling Kline giving up a thumbs-up sign. The ad reads: "Want to go on a DATE with Dave?"

The sign also lists a couple of ‘fast facts’ about Kline, which include that he "has normal hobbies," "owns a cat (pictured" and "can cook (well)."

In an interview with WPVI, Kiline said the billboard "was just supposed to be funny for the most part," but that it has led to some messages, "which is great."

In a July 24 Instagram post, Kline confirmed that he is indeed single.

“It may shock you to know, but the guy who bought a billboard as a funny hehe haha really is actually 100% single!” he added. “If you live in Philadelphia (or anywhere with central AC) feel free to send me a message! My only request is that if you want to reach out, I’d appreciate it if you didn’t send me spam, threats, or anything weird! I have literally no idea if this will be popular at all or totally forgettable in 2 days, so just have fun and feel free to ask me out ❤️.”

So far, Kline said he's gotten a few messages, and he even has a date in the works.

Responses to Kline’s billboard, which will be on display for a month, have also been positive. One user posted on Instagram: “This is the most clever idea! Best of luck to you, Dave! 🎉🎉 PS you’re a hit in the cat groups on FB right now 🤪.”

Another commenter wrote: “I am just here to watch this love story to unfold. ❤️.”
