Forget the Hadids sisters for a moment because a new and rather unexpected family just stormed the Balenciaga show – the Simpsons.

On Sunday attendees at the hotly anticipated catwalk Paris Fashion Week show were treated to a 10-minute Balenciaga-themed Simpsons episode in which Homer, Marge Simpson, Bart, Lisa and Maggie took to the catwalk in front of guests including Kim Kardashian, Kanye West and Justin Bieber.

During the episode, the cartoon characters playfully jested with the fashion house’s reputation for big, bold and somewhat pricey designs, with Marge getting stuck in a doorway (blame the oversized shoulder pads) and Homer nearly passing out after seeing his wife’s dress cost a whopping £14,000 ($19,000) price tag).

However, it wasn’t long before the father-of-three enjoys his runway moment for Demna Gvasalia wearing sunglasses and a red Puffa jacket emblazoned with the fashion brand’s signature logo.

Of course, Marge stole the show at the end dressed in a floor-length gold dress with a gigantic bow at the back, resulting in a standing ovation and applause from West, Bieber, Kardashian and other attendees.

Understandably, fans of the fashion house couldn’t get over the collaboration of the season:

The Simpsons weren’t the only ones to take to the catwalk, however, with the likes of Smithers, Patty and Selma Bouvier and Chief Wiggum giving Kendall Jenner and Kaia Gerber a run for their money.

After the episode, models including Naomi Campbell and Amber Valleta brought high octane glamour on the runway (on a livestream) in oversized, ruffled and dreamy dresses, while others donned sharp suits and streetwear – a true celebration of Gvasalia’s talent at bringing together tailored silhouettes and comfortable athleisurewear in one collection.

In addition to updating its now famous Space Shoe, Balenciaga took the opportunity to debut its new Defender – a chunky trainer we’ll all be coveting come spring.
