Simone Rocha's collection for H&M is now available to shop

H&M's designer collaborations are always a point of excitement – and the latest reveal does not disappoint. After teaming up with the likes of Versace, Giambattista Valli and Isabel Marant in the past, the Scandi high-street brand has now launched its latest collaboration, one with London Fashion Week favourite Simone Rocha.

The collection – which is available to shop now – is not just for women, but will caters to the menswear and childrenswear markets, and has been created by dipping into the designer's 10-year archive and finding inspiration in the pieces that most represent her house codes. Cue plenty of bows, pearls and tweed.

"I am so thrilled to be working with H&M on this very special collection," the designer said in a press release. "It truly is a celebration of the signatures of my brand, and the influences that have shaped me. As a designer, and as a customer, I’ve been such a fan of the H&M collaboration concept. Margiela, Alber Elbaz, Comme des Garcons – it’s such an amazing list of alumni to be a part of."

This collection celebrates Rocha's personal inter-ethnic heritage and all which has inspired her fashion label, from the traditions and crafts of Hong Kong through to the greats of art history, the announcement revealed.

In terms of what pieces you will find in the collection, there is everything from occasionwear, including tulle dresses and tailoring, to knits, shirting, outerwear, casual T-shirts, accessories, sparkling jewellery and pearl-embellished footwear.

In an interview about the collection, Rocha explained how sustainability had been at the forefront of her mind when designing this collection (as it always is), and how she believes that the quality of the garments will surprise consumers.

"A company like H&M has a much bigger footprint than something like Simone Rocha, so yes, sustainability for us came into the fabrications," she explained to Vogue US. "We were able to use an organic cotton, recycled polyester, a new compostable yarn. Actually, it was very interesting to see what could translate, and I think people will be surprised by the quality when they see it, so I hope it will be special enough to want to wear forever."

The campaign has been shot by Tyler Mitchell, while Rocha's partner has also shot some documentary chats with Rocha, and with Adwoa and Kesewa Aboah. The campaign features the likes of actors Daisy Edgar Jones and Michael Ward.
