Simon Webbe marks Pride Month by sharing advice he gave to gay daughter

Simon Webbe has taught his eldest daughter, who came out at a young age, not to worry what other people think about her.

The proud dad couldn't hide his admiration for 25-year-old Alanah during a chat with OK! magazine to mark Pride Month, telling the publication he is "very, very" proud of the way she's handled herself from a young age.

He went on to discuss the conversations he's had with Alanah, who he shares with ex-girlfriend Nicola Jones, over the years.

"It was always something that she will be able to navigate herself through once she's old enough to understand how people have had their own insecurities, hence why they feel to have a feel to give their opinion," the Blue star said. "Most of it is, for me, comes from a place of not understanding yourself.

"I've always just taught her to just understand who you are as a person, and just know that when you go home and you close that door, those are the people that matter. Those people who put comments and stuff like that on social media, those are the people who probably have their own problems and they're just venting it, and they're pulling on to you."

Last year, Simon, 44, became a dad for the second time when his wife Ayshen Kemal welcomed baby girl Cyan Shenel in April.
