I'm a Celebrity's Vernon Kay has been sporting an eye-catching horseshoe ring since entering the camp in Gwyrch castle, prompting us to wonder about its significance.

While some viewers suggested that it belongs to one of his two daughters, it's now been revealed that it was actually a very romantic anniversary gift from his wife, Strictly Come Dancing presenter Tess Daly.

In an unearthed 2010 interview with Now, Vernon explained how he had initially bought the ring to emulate Elvis Presley, as he is a huge fan of the legendary singer, before Tess updated it with diamonds as a special anniversary gift.

"The most romantic thing Tess has done for me was for our wedding anniversary," he explained. "I'm a huge Elvis Presley fan and when he first signed his record deal he bought himself a pinky ring with a lucky horseshoe on it.

"I had a really bad fake copy of it from Graceland, but she took it to a Hatton Garden jeweller and had a white gold version made with real diamonds."

He added: "It's quality! I couldn't believe it when she had it made. It only ever comes out on themed nights, though."

Last night's I'm a Celebrity saw Vernon, Radio 1 DJ Jordan North and Corrie star Beverley Callard taking part in the show's first Bushtucker trial, during which Vernon had to eat deer testicles.

Let's hope the ring gave him luck!

Meanwhile, Tess and their two daughters Phoebe, 16, and Amber, 11, have been cheering on Vernon from home, and sharing messages of support on social media.

I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! continues tonight Wednesday, November 18, at 9pm on ITV.
