The Duchess of Cambridge is known for her impeccable style and coveted fashion choices, with outfits she wears selling out in seconds. More than simply looking flawless, however, many of the Duchess' looks also contain hidden meaning or subtle nods of appreciation, such as her support for British designers.

This month, the Duke and Duchess released their 2021 Christmas card which showed them alongside their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, in Jordan, during a holiday earlier this year.

The Duchess wore a khaki summer dress with her wavy hair down and many were quick to praise her chic, laid back look, but missed the symbolism of one of her chosen accessories was easy to miss.

Look a little closer and you’ll see that the charm on Kate's necklace is a gold Arabic coffee pot, known as a 'dallah'. Dallahs are used in the Middle East to offer a hot drink as a sign of hospitality. The Duchess was first seen sporting the charm back in 2005 and it's thought she re-wore it for this trip to show appreciation for the generous hospitality the people of Jordan.

The Duchess has been known to choose jewellery which nods to her children and in June 2021 she did just that. On an official tour of Scotland in May 2021, Kate enjoyed a spot of tennis in Edinburgh and wore another gold necklace by Daniella Draper. This time, it featured mini pendants of her children’s initials: G, C, and L, showing she often wears jewellery for her children when they can't accompany when she is away working. The Duchess previously wore the same necklace while visiting The University of Derby in October 2020, too.
