A study of 3,000 adults, which was conducted by Premier Inn, found that those who sleep on the left side of the bed wake up happier and better equipped for the day, whilst those on the right side are more likely to feel grumpier with a negative outlook on the day ahead.
In the research, 31% of those who sleep on the left love their jobs, while 18% of those who sleep on the right admitted to hating their work. Meanwhile, they also found that 75% of Brits are stuck in their sleeping routine and would find it weird sleeping on the other side of the bed. A quarter claim switching it up would affect their mood the following day.
The research explained that "over a quarter of people who snooze on the left side of the bed feel they have a really positive outlook on life in general, compared to 18 per cent of right-side sleepers," reports News Letter.
Claire Haigh, a spokeswoman for Premier Inn, said: "The research clearly indicates a pattern between which side of the bed you sleep on and the mood you wake up in."
