Shop London: model Felicity Hayward on the independent brands she loves

Felicity Hayward is a certified model, mover and shaker and an overall mood booster.

The plus-size model who’s made it her business to draw attention to the flaws of the fashion industry (she boycotted London Fashion Week in February over concerns that it wasn’t diverse or inclusive enough), is no stranger to using her platform to make a difference.

And the London-raised verified joy inducer is once again channeling her voice to uplift and empower women through her latest collaboration with inclusive lingerie brand, Playful Promises.

But that’s not the only independent brand she’s supporting: we caught up with Hayward to find out which small businesses from our Shop London campaign she’ll be supporting today. Happy shopping!

Good Candles School Dinners Candle

“I love the take on the classic scents of reading books and school dinners, mixing nostalgia with beautiful scents. Every candle has a percentage going to an incredible charity, including Trussel Trust and Ecologi (which will plant trees for each candle sold).”

Stems Wilder Dried Flower Wreath

“Stems Wilder is a gorgeous little shop in Brixton Market with some of the most beautiful blooms. I adore their mini Christmas wreaths which I would keep up all year round! I’ve also got my eye on some of their hand-blown glass vintage style vases for the new year, such beautiful pieces.”

Drop of Dopamine Art Deco Clear Vanity Set

“I love Drop of Dopamine - it’s like all your best car boot finds in one place. As my home is an inspiring ‘Only Fools and Horses’ Del Boy-esque set, this company really gets me in my feels. I want it all. The trinkets, the glassware and the candleholders. Absolutely beaut.”

Japan Centre Mochi

“Japan Centre is one of my favourite places to stop at when in central London, they now have an incredible takeaway ramen bar and I love the selection of mochi they have in store (green tea is my fav.) Also if you pop in around 7pm most of their fresh food is half price!”
