Shocked Gogglebox fans slam 'disgraceful' Channel 4 show as they're forced to watch nude scenes
Gogglebox viewers were left gobsmacked as they were unexpectedly greeted with a full display of nudity on their screens. The much-loved Channel 4 programme, which features families and friends reacting to the week's television, showcased snippets from Rylan Clark's daring new reality dating show, Dating Naked. The premise of the show involves 10 singles who bare it all in a unique dating adventure, seeking romance without a stitch on.
The Gogglebox cast, along with audiences at home, were taken aback as they watched the participants disrobe for love. Social media was abuzz with reactions, with one viewer tweeting on X, previously known as Twitter: "I've just looked up from my phone. Erm.. I'm sorry what is this? ! ". Another chimed in with a cringed-out: "Ewww no, I don't like this."
Someone else reminisced: "Remember when the double entendre on Blind Date was considered a bit raunchy? Jaysus." And another wrote: "What the f*** is this on my TV? " Siblings Pete and Sophie Sandiford were seen shielding their eyes during the revealing scenes, while Dave and Shirley, the lovable couple, couldn't contain their laughter.

Best pals Jenny Newby and Lee Riley, who have been BFFs for over 20 years, didn't hesitate to grab their specs for a better view. Rylan has since defended Dating Naked amidst criticisms calling it "disgraceful". He likened the show to Love Island, but minus the swimwear. The controversial series made its debut on Paramount+ in August. He popped up on ITV's This Morning to share that Dating Naked UK is "dating, but laid bare". He also mentioned the exceptional "duty of care is like no other show".
The show features 10 singletons searching for love while on a holiday, sans clothing. As new arrivals shake things up, established couples might find themselves in a twist. Rylan quipped: "It is Love Island without the bikinis, that's pretty much what it is, you see everything, there's no strategic placement of the cameras. You see absolutely everything, and all the reviews today from the same reviewers that give me five stars for my last show on BBC Two are like 'This is disgraceful'. You know 'I don't need to see this' but that's exactly what the show is and its dating laid bare."
