Shirley Ballas receives 'concerning' test results

Shirley Ballas requires more tests after she received some "concerning" results, after 'Strictly Come Dancing' viewers spotted a lump under her arm.

The 61-year-old head judge of the Latin and ballroom show has taken to social media to reveal blood tests have shown she has "extremely low" oestrogen levels and "ultra-high" testosterone, and she requires a scan on her ovaries.

Speaking in an Instagram video, she said: "I went and had a lot of blood work done and now the testosterone's come back ultra-high; the adrenal glands need a scan and my ovaries need a scan; my oestrogen levels are extremely low.

"All in all, a little concerning for my doctor, so that's where we're at at the moment."

Shirley also revealed her doctor is making her another appointment so she can have "certain odd things" checked out.

She captioned the clip: "So blood work back. A little concerning so dr is making an appointment at kings to check certain odd things happening in my body I won’t go into the details at the moment. Any way to each and every one of you who started me on this road thank you so much. I’ll keep you all updated each and every one of you. Remember health is wealth so I’ll be on top of these issues for the time being. With gratitude to you all. #health #gratitude (sic)"

Last week, Shirley told concerned fans how a doctor couldn't find anything when she went to see her regarding a lump, but the medic had discovered the star's hormone levels were "all over the place".

She said: "I popped to the doctor this morning. She did an underarm test and breast test.

"She couldn’t feel anything, although she also thought that she saw something when I lifted my arm up so … maybe it was cameras, lighting, not sure.

"What we did discover was that my hormone levels are all over the place. My testosterone is that of men and my oestradiol is zero."

Shirley explained that while there was nothing to be found from the lump, she was going for a hospital check-up later in the week and urged women to always get checked out.

She wrote in the caption: "Lump an Body MOT for women.

Dear all thank you so much for making me aware of a lump you all saw under my arm. I am so grateful to have so many beautiful kind caring humans looking out for me. I will be popping to the hospital Friday for full blood work. Hormones could be the reason for exhaustion - sleepless nights and a few more things going on. I’m so happy I went for a check up today. Ladies let me know how your hormones are ? Do you self check ? Hugs to all #breastcheck #hormones (sic)"
