We're almost at the point of knowing every single celebrity who's taken part in ITV's weird and wonderful The Masked Singer this season, with only Robin, Badger and Sausage left in the competition.

Throughout the contest, Sausage's power house vocals have left the judges and public alike guessing that she's a professional singer.

Frequent guesses include Stacey Solomon, Joss Stone and Billie Piper. Another name thrown in the mix again and again is musical theatre star Sheridan Smith, and now fans think they've had a big clue about whether or not she is in fact disguised in Sausage's costume.

On Sunday night (7 February), Sheridan hosted and performed in BBC One's Musicals: The Greatest Show, an extravaganza dedicated to the music of the shows. As well as singing solo, she took part in a duet of I Know Him So Well with Amanda Holden, giving viewers plenty of time to listen to her impressive vocals.

It seems that Sheridan's performances have given The Masked Singer fans a big clue - or so they think. But here's the catch, they're divided in opinion. While some took to social media to say they're now totally convinced Sheridan is Sausage, others feel absolutely sure now that she's not.

Newly unmasked contestant, Sue Perkins, has spoken about her experience on the show and interacting with her co-stars, including Sausage, while everyone's being so secretive.

“You have a balaclava, a visor, and this T-shirt that says ‘Don’t Speak to Me’ and you only ever really see a handful of people… I have no idea who else is in the show. I never met them. I waved at Sausage and did a little dance with Badger and jostled in a corridor with Robin," she told the Lorraine programme.

“The whole thing, it feels like magic because you are keeping a secret. I’m used to that with Bake Off because we filmed that months in advance. I’m very used to not saying.”

So, the debate about Sausage's true identity continues. We'll find out who she really is when she takes to The Masked Singer stage this weekend for the show's grand final.

The Masked Singer final airs at 7pm on 13 February on ITV. Musicals: The Greatest Show is available to view on BBC iPlayer now.
