Sheridan Smith has been targeted by thieves who ransacked her trailer on the set of her latest TV show.

The 40-year-old actor and TV presenter is thought to have lost personal items of jewellery after robbers raided the location in south west London where she was filming upcoming Sky comedy Rosie Molloy Gives Up Everything.

A Met Police spokesman told The Sun newspaper: “Items of jewellery were stolen from trailers in Surbiton.

Smith stars in the title role of the new TV series — due to air later this year — about workaholic senior accountant Rosie, who suffers from anxiety and depression, as well as battling sex, drug and alcohol addiction.

The dark comedy sees her character struggling to change her self-destructive habits brought about by her highly competitive and stressful lifestyle.

The Cilla star – who lost her father Colin to cancer in 2016 – has previously opened up on her own struggles with anxiety, panic attacks and alcohol misuse.

Smith announced in July last year that she and fiance Jamie Horn had separated after three years together.

In October she revealed she had been upset by abusive messages from online trolls after she shared an Instagram selfie with new boyfriend Alex Lawler.

Smith confirmed in September she was dating old flame Lawler, who appeared in Sky One football TV drama Dream Team between 2002 and 2005 and has since moved behind the camera. But they split after four months of dating.
