The People's Choice Awards took place overnight, with several celebrities donning their best partywear for the red carpet. While some opted for glitter, sequins and lace looks, Shania Twain went in a very different direction. Not only did she incorporate sheer mesh panelling, the music star also featured leopard print details in her outfit. Far from a coincidence, the dress is a nod to her most famous outfit of all time.
For those who didn't watch the show, Shania won the People’s Choice Music Icon Award - (which is already amazing). On arrival, she instantly reminded viewers of her famously unique style. Shania walked the red carpet in a custom Rodarte gown, complete with a sheer body and sleeves, paired with an opaque skirt. The focus, however, is definitely the leopard accents across the bandeau-style top, shoulders, hood and cape.
'80s and '90s kids will likely recognise Shania in leopard print, as it's a recreation of her oh-so-famous 1998 'That Don’t Impress Me Much' music video costume in the same print.

When accepting her award, Shania reflected on her personal style. “I’ve enjoyed creating fashion moments in many of my music videos over the years,” she said.
“I think, for celebrating the influence that I may have had on popular culture, it makes me smile when I think back at the very first videos that I made, especially the denim on denim.
“I mean, I just went through my closet, picked out whatever I had or I went to a department store and picked out the budget things because they didn’t have a big budget.
“And you know, what with a sharp pair of scissors and a big imagination…I just pulled and chopped and…hoped for the best.”
Shania went on to debut two more looks on the night, including this hot pink get-up:
And a glittery catsuit:
Yep, an icon indeed!
