Shailene Woodley is engaged to American football player Aaron Rodgers.

The news comes days after Rodgers, who plays quarterback for the Green Bay Packers in Wisconsin, announced his engagement during a broadcast speech at the NFL Honours Awards - but stopped short of naming his bride-to-be.

"It's an honour to win this award for the third time," he said. "2020 was definitely a crazy year filled with lots of change and growth, some amazing memorable moments. 180 straight days of having my nose hair scraped, playing for very little fans or no stands the entire season." He then added: "I got engaged."

The athlete went on to thank people for their support, including his teammates as well as his new mystery fiancée.

Now, People has confirmed that Woodley is the bride-to-be.

“They are very happy together,” a source told the publication. “It’s not surprising he proposed so fast. When you know, you know, right?”

US Weekly had previously reported that the couple were dating before the engagement was announced, however, neither Woodley nor Rodgers had confirmed the news.

The 29-year-old Big Little Lies star was last linked to rugby player Ben Volavola, confirming their relationship in January 2018. The actress later announced that they had split in an April 2020 interview with The New York Times.

"We’re societally conditioned to assume that one person can be our end-all, be-all," she said at the time. "This is a concept I’ve been thinking about often right now, because I’m very much single, and I’ve chosen to be single for a while. The idea of being with someone… is it only because you’ve fallen in love with that person, or because there’s a newness to understanding yourself because of what that person can offer you?"
