Sex And The City fans think Kim Cattrall just threw some major shade at her old cast mates, ahead of the HBO reboot.

In July 2021, fans were given their first look at the Sex and The City reboot, And Just Like That, starring Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon. While it was made common knowledge that Kim wouldn't be reprising the role of Samantha, some new cast members will be joining the show.

Those include: Sara Ramirez, Nicole Ari Parker, Karen Pittman and Sarita Choudhury, who SJP announced on Instagram in July. She then shared a photo of Nicole hugging the three main cast members on 17th August, with the caption, "Oh so fine. I’d sing along to 70s love songs with this trio deep into any night. @justlikethatmax I’ll see you ladies tomorrow!"

In somewhat ~coincidental~ timing, Kim took to Instagram one day later with what some fans are speculating is a shady caption. Posing alongside a dog named Pixel, her co-star in Sensitive Skin, Kim wrote, "When your co-star is a real dog 🐶."

Fans were quick to jump on the caption, questioning whether there was a double meaning. One comment read, "I'm sensing a little shade here? 🤔🤣" and another put, "Is this shade? 🤔"

Other comments read, "so shady I love it" and "Samantha will never be replaced."

It's well known that Kim and SJP didn't get on by the end of filming the original Sex And The City. Plus, while Parker has always been vocal about wanting to do another series or film, Cattrall has made it repeatedly clear that she is done with SATC.

"[Samantha] is a great part. I played it past the finish line and then some, and I loved it. And another actress should play it," she said in 2017. "Maybe they could make it an African-American Samantha Jones, or a Hispanic Samantha Jones."

Fair enough.
