Several Missing in Alaska Town Amid Flooding and Landslides

At least six people were missing after a landslide in Haines, Alaska, on December 2, the Anchorage Daily News reported.

Alaska Gov Mike Dunleavy took to Twitter, saying the National Guard and State Troopers were on their way to assist in rescue and recovery efforts.

The landslide came after a record rainstorm, the Anchorage Daily News said. A flash flood warning was issued by the National Weather Service, and was in effect until Wednesday night.

The Haines Borough Police Department said they were conducting rescue operations on Wednesday.
