Want to hear something messy? Emma Hernan has now responded to Ben Affleck denying he ever messaged her, after she claimed they matched on a dating app in Selling Sunset season five.

In case you need a recap, one particular scene in the new Netflix series gained a lot of fan attention, after Emma Hernan told Chrishell Stause she almost got in the way of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez's reunion.

The pair were sat on a bed discussing Emma's love life when she says, "He [Ben] may or may not have been texting me. He may or may not have asked to grab coffee a few times. I didn’t go." A shocked Chrishell replies, "You could’ve foiled Bennifer! He was on the hunt."

"Right!? It was right before that," Emma responded. "So, maybe that wouldn’t have happened. We have the Boston connection. So, that was his opening pick-up line."

However, not long after the series came out on Friday [22nd April], a rep for the actor told People magazine that he has not been on Raya (the dating app in question) for quite some time. "Raya has confirmed that he has not been an active member for several years," a representative for the newly-engaged actor said.

Awkward.

Now, Emma has responded to Ben's response, insisting the messages did happen, but they were three years ago. "It was not recent. This was 2019," she told E! News' Daily Pop on 25 April. "Literally, the smallest, innocent little thing, and it was taken and blew up out of proportion."

The realtor continued, "I think on the show, you didn't see the time frame and it just seemed worse, and it was literally the smallest thing. End of story. We're shutting that one down, now."

That's the end of that one, then.

Selling Sunset season 5 is now streaming on Netflix.
