While the majority of productions were put on hold in March due to the coronavirus pandemic, films are finally (finally!) getting cinema release dates that we can look forward to.

It looks like the first thing to drop in cinemas will be The Broken Hearts Gallery, which has had a confirmed US release date for post-lockdown. Executive produced by Selena Gomez, the romance story stars Stranger Things' Dacre Montgomery and Bad Education's Geraldine Viswanathan, and has a scheduled US cinema release date of July 10.

July 10! That's SOON! And while a release date for the UK is to be confirmed, this is surely a good sign for the future of cinema visits.

Via Deadline, Gomez said in a statement of her new film: "Hearing from more female writers and directors is very much needed. [Director] Natalie [Krinsky] is a wonderful talent, and I am happy to be a part of her debut film.

"I understand people's concerns regarding returning to activities we all loved prior to COVID-19. I hope everyone will listen to scientists' recommendations and consider others' health and safety while enjoying the movie theater [sic] experience."

This comes as many productions also confirmed they would safely be returning to filming, providing they could abide by social distancing rules, including Line Of Duty and the British soaps. Exciting!
