Selena Gomez’s beauty brand just responded to THAT Patrick Starrr review
There's been a lot of excitement surrounding Selena Gomez's new Rare Beauty line, which is still not available in the UK yet *tsk*.
But from what we've seen so far (and from afar), it looks great - with chic, pale-pink packaging, innovative formulas and extensive shade ranges. Go Sel! 🙌🏻
"Being rare is about being comfortable with yourself," the singer told fans when she first announced the brand back in February this year. "I've stopped trying to be perfect, I just want to be me."
Selena also set up the Rare Impact Fund, which will raise $100 million over the next ten years to help address the gaps in mental health services for underserved communities.
Patrick Starrr was one of many beauty youTubers who took to camera to try out Selena's new beauty offering, and although he had heaps of praise for the brand, there were some clear sticking points for him.
"It feels like, so thin," he said as he applied the foundation. "I'm afraid it's going to, like, run down my shirt." After trying the glowy primer he told watchers, "I will use this on someone who has close-to-perfect skin."

But he also had plenty of positive feedback, saying the concealer, blush and lip balm were his favourite products and that overall, he loved the brand, which felt very "clean, fresh, natural."
Selena's people at Rare decided to respond, but were obviously keen to keep things sweet. They tweeted how "thrilled" they were by all the positive feedback they's had so far, then touched specifically on Starrr's comments in a follow up tweet:
"But please remember that everyone has different preferences with makeup, and not everything is going to work for everyone. That’s okay! @patrickstarrr is such a positive voice in this community and an incredible creator and entrepreneur so let’s all show him nothing but love!"
