See Saoirse Ronan Make Her Stunning Louis Vuitton Campaign Debut
From Atonement to Blitz, four-time Oscar nominee Saoirse Ronan is no stranger to historical drama. Now, the actor’s given the period piece a modern makeover in her new Renaissance-inspired campaign for Louis Vuitton.
Shot by photographer Steven Meisel, the campaign features Ronan wearing key looks from Nicolas Ghesquière’s SS25 collection for the house against the backdrop of oil paintings by French artist Laurent Grasso. Grasso’s works are inspired by historical art techniques, while the composition of Meisel’s shots echo Renaissance portraiture.

Alongside Ronan, Louis Vuitton also cast K-Pop phenomenon Lisa, who is due to make her acting debut in the hotly anticipated new season of The White Lotus.
‘It was amazing to be shot by Steven. I haven’t worked with him since I was about 15 years old,’ Ronan exclusively told ELLE UK. ‘He’s incredibly precise and clear in his vision and he knows when he has the shot. To have his gravitas as a photographer behind the campaign makes it feel all the more real and prestigious.’
The looks in the campaign first debuted on the catwalk in September in Louis Vuitton’s energetic crescendo to the SS25 show season, which marked Ghesquière's 10th anniversary as artistic director of women’s collections at the house.
Ronan, who was first named a Louis Vuitton ambassador last January, often turns to Ghesquière to dress her for the red carpet; she wore custom Louis Vuitton for a number of flagship events last year, including the Emmy Awards, Academy Museum Gala and Governors Awards.
‘I feel very feminine, strong, chic and French [when wearing the brand],’ she says. ‘I like the fact that I’m part of a larger group of wonderful and talented beautiful women and men.’
When dressing for the red carpet, Ronan turns to closely with her stylist Danielle Goldberg, who also works with fellow It actors Ayo Edebiri and Greta Lee. With awards season in full swing, how does she approach getting ready for some of the world's biggest red carpets?
‘When you are lucky enough to have a brilliant stylist...who just instantly gets you and knows how to bring out your essence through different styles and eras in fashion, it’s really exciting,’ she said. ‘It gives me the chance to relax somewhat while being in a stressful environment.’
