The Met Gala is one of the most enjoyable events of the year. Each one brings some unforgettable looks, like Blake Lively at the Met in 2018; iconic moments, like when Donatella Versace wore that J-Lo dress herself; and the best memes of all time. Who could forget when Rihanna’s 2015 dress was made into an egg, sunny side up?

Just this year alone, we’ve had Kim Kardashian in a mask – though, here’s the pictures of how she looked underneath, if you’re curious. Also, Rihanna solving our greasy hair problems, Gigi Hadid channelling Jessica Rabbit and Megan Fox getting a 1950s-inspired fringe.

With this year’s In America: A Lexicon of Fashion theme being slightly open to interpretation, we’re glad to say the Met brought some quirkier looks, too.

Maisie Williams looked almost unrecognisable when she turned up to the Met Gala. The Games of Thrones star turned up with her now-signature bleached eyebrows.

Maisie actually bleached her brows earlier this year but now, they’re finally getting the red carpet appearances they deserve.

She made up for her lack of brows with dark makeup, edgy nails and an intricate updo – and the result gave us Tim-Burton-movie-but-make-it-chic vibes.

In fact, when the official Met Museum Instagram page posted a picture of Maisie, many people commented saying they had mistaken her for Christina Ricci.

Bleached brows, Tim Burton energy and a touch of neon? 10s, 10s, 10s across the board.
