Everybody has their go-to look. For me, it’s matte skin, a load of bronzer, winged liner and eyelashes as long and curled as possible. But it’s always fun to mix it up one in a while.

That’s exactly what Jade Thirlwall has done in her latest Instagram post.

The Little Mix singer posted a series of pictures in which she has ditched her regular nude lipstick in favour of black lippie. Yep, dark black – and of course, she looks effortlessly cool.

Continuing the touches of black, she also has super dark outlined eyes with sharp winged liner. And a hoodie featuring herself because, well, why not?

I’ve gotta say, the emo makeup is giving me flashbacks of MySpace, chunky lace-up boots and blasting Evanescence.

The post, which Jade hilariously captioned: “Some quote about loving yourself or something I dunno” was a big hit with fans, with many praising her new look.

“Dark lipstick is a big YES!” wrote one fan.

While another added: “BLACK LIPS ARE VERY MUCH NEEDED FOR THE SWEET MELODY ENCORE ON TOUR THANKS”

I won’t lie, black lipstick is something I usually reserve for Halloween but Jade is definitely making the case for it being as commonplace as a red. We even hit up a makeup artist for tips on how to wear dark lipstick without looking like a vampire.

Now, where do I find a jumper with my face on it?...
