Seann Walsh has been quick to make fun of Katya Jones’ split from husband Neil, addressing his infamous kiss with his Strictly Come Dancing partner during a stand-up performance at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Walsh, who was pictured in a kiss with Katya on a drunken night out during last year’s series of Strictly, joked that he was “going to hell” after hearing that the married couple have decided to part ways.

Having been married for six years and 10 months, the Strictly pros confirmed their separation on Sunday.

Just hours after their announcement, Walsh made light of the break-up during his Edinburgh Fringe Festival set.

“I am aware they announced they are splitting up. I have no reaction,” he said, before adding: “I’ll see you in hell.”

Talking about the week after they were pictured kissing each other in the street, he joked: “On the Friday I am in the hotel so the paps can’t find me – secret location, very showbiz.

“I get into bed and ask Katya to pass me the remote.”

He reportedly added: “The year I’ve had? I can make that joke.”

Katya posted a lengthy statement on her Instagram account to confirm that she and Neil had separated, adding that they’ll continue to work and dance together.

“Hi everyone,” she wrote. “As our fans and loyal supporters you are really important to us and so we wanted to let you know some news. After 11 years we have made the mutual decision to separate.”

She added: “We will always love each other, just in a different way as friends. This will never change what a great team we make and we are really proud of everything we have achieved together.

“Our shared love of dance means we will keep working and dancing together as well as exploring individual projects. No matter what we do we will always support and respect each other.

“We wish one another every happiness and we will remain the best of friends. We are really looking forward to getting back to the ballroom and can’t wait to keep on dancing. Lots of love from us both.”
