You might know television personality Brooke Burke as the host of shows like Dancing with the Stars, Penn & Teller: Fool Us, and Entertainment Tonight, but among Hollywood insiders, digital wellness junkies, and community members in her hometown of Malibu, she’s more of a fitness and wellness leader. In fact, Burke has been at the forefront of biohacking before tech bros entered the picture. Burke teaches yoga, mobility, and body sculpting classes via her wellness app, BB Body, and is known to hold wellness retreats centered on everything from menopause to regenerative medicine in her expansive Malibu property (teaming with a crystal garden, citrus orchard, infrared sauna, and cold plunge tank).

“If you saw my garage! I’ve had everything in there, from CVAC Power Pod to plate vibration machines. I’m a big believer in healing on the cellular level. I think so much of it is what we put into our bodies, but also how we treat our bodies, speak to our bodies for mental wellness, and protect ourselves,” she says.

In her retreats and her own life, the self-proclaimed biohacking geek focuses on longevity by marrying mind, body, and energy practices that help her “live as much of an anti-inflammatory life as possible.” That means moving the body beyond fitness, eating for clean energy, and delivering little shocks to the system (such as achieving cardiovascular bursts via her “bite-sized burn” fitness classes and by oscillating from the sauna to a cold plunge and back).

“It’s slightly painful, until you learn to crave it,” Burke says. “I like to do things that are a little bit uncomfortable, I suppose. But [these things] have value from the inside out and become rituals rather than ‘dos and don’ts’ of fitness.” Among some of the more gentle healing practices that the parent of six swears by? Listening to 528 hertz sleep frequencies. “I find it helps lower stress levels and drop me into a flow state, which is amazing,” she says.

As we look to make the most of 2025, who better from which to glean wellness tips than the woman who, after more than 20 years in the space, has seen and tried it all (and appears to be Benjamin Buttoning before our very eyes)? Find Burke’s favorite biohacking tools, from remineralized coffee beans to hydrogen tablets, ahead.

Mineralized, Mold-Free Coffee

“I make a conscious [effort with] everything that I put into my body. It’s part of a non-negotiable plan, but one that’s also joyful. That’s how I stick with most of the things that I do. I really like this coffee because it’s loaded with antioxidants and minerals,” Burke says.

Danger Coffee taps a patent-pending process to charge beans with 50 trace minerals and electrolytes, something proponents say can help reduce brain fog and improve gut health without the caffeine crash.

A High-Powered Blender

A cup of joe isn’t the only morning beverage Burke turns to for mineralization. She also consumes an entire lemon a day to boost her mineral intake. “Before I have my coffee, I’ll blend an entire lemon—the seeds, the skin, the pulp—in water. Everybody I know is doing this now because of mineral [decline] in nutrients,” she says. (Studies show that lemons contain minerals such as iron, potassium, calcium, magnesium, and phosphorus.)

Burke says not all high-powered blenders can’t always get the job done and relies on one with 1200 watts of power and a small footprint. “I have the best blender in the world: The Beast, which you can also use to make sauces and smoothies. I don’t have a deal with the brand, but I should. I use it every day and talk about it organically because it’s amazing.”

A PEMF Mat

“I’m a big user of a PEMF (pulsed electromagnetic frequency) pad that I lay on for eight minutes, twice a day. You don’t necessarily feel it, but [it’s meant to] improve oxen oxygen flow, circulation, and recovery,” Burke says. “It’s one of the things I do to take care of myself so that I can grind and work out really hard because it helps my muscles to repair. It sounds a bit weird, but I’ll even have my dogs sit on it for recovery and oxygenation. If we believe oxygen is the elixir of life, why not?”

While Burke’s go-to pad is a patented device from Bemer that rings in at nearly $6K, this option provides PEMF and infrared technology at a more affordable price.

EMF Shields

“This is very controversial, but I use these shields to absorb electromagnetic frequency (EMF),” she says of the non-ionizing, radiofrequency radiation emitted by cell phones, smart meters, tablets, laptops, and other devices. (Though the National Cancer Institute says the energy emitted from these devices are at a frequency too low to damage DNA, some still prefer to reduce their exposure.) “I had one on set with me during Penn and Teller and it looks like a magic card. I also have one on my bedside table, I have them in my office, and I have a smaller one I keep in my purse,” Burke says, noting that using the devices makes her feel like she’s protecting her family by reducing exposure to EMF.

While more affordable versions are made to attach to cell phone cases, Burke says they can, “sometimes make your phone work a little bit harder for the protection.”

NAD+ Supplementation

“I’ve been taking Tru Niagen for six years. It’s a coenzyme that helps your body naturally produce the molecule nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+),” Burke says. Research shows the NAD+ molecule, found in every living cell, plays an important role in cellular metabolism, while low levels of the molecule have been linked to many hallmarks of aging.

“Some people believe that you can’t orally consume NAD+, so I also take it [in] special compound [form], or in shots or IV drips. I feel like NAD+ is something that we need over the age of 40 because we produce less and less of it, and it’s amazing for cellular repair and recovery,” she says.

Microcurrent Skincare Treatments

“We’re in a world where we’re getting [neuromodulators] and manipulating our faces to get rid of wrinkles, which freezes the muscles. So what happens if you never did a bicep curl? What would your bicep look like? You’ve got to stimulate the muscles in your face,” Burke says.

“So I do it with gua sha or a [microcurrent] tool.”

Adaptogenic Energy Shots

“This little shot is full of vitamins C and D, mushrooms, nootropics, and adaptogens. It helps you get into a flow state,” Burke says.

“I’ll be on set and I’ll have everybody on my team do one. It doesn’t give you that pop of energy, exactly. It provides more of a relaxed, clarity. It sounds weird, I know, but it [gives] clear, sustainable energy and tastes amazing. So I do that every day.”

Gut-Nourishing Superfood Powder

“I really believe in gut health and repair, and allowing my body to utilize what it has as the best way to combat belly fat, so I intermittent fast,” Burke says. To refuel, she relies on this smoothie recipe, made with her own superfood powder.

“It has a lot of anti-inflammatory properties and is amazing for recovery and endurance. It has natural protein, maca, and flaxseed oils, some probiotics, and cacao. It’s nutrient-dense, gives me great energy and mental clarity—everything I need.”

Activated Water

“It’s not always possible to drink spring water. (It’s more expensive than gasoline). People are gonna think I’m weird—and my kids laugh at me for doing it—but I activate my water. I’ll put drinking water in a huge glass jar and set it out in the sun all day. Sometimes I put crystals in it and leave it out overnight in the moonlight to sort of bring it back to nature,” Burke says.

“But when I can’t get good water, like if I’m on set or on the go, I’ll drop in a molecular hydrogen tablet to get the water back to a more natural state.” These tablets are said to create hydrogen-rich water, which may increase its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.
