Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost are now officially husband and wife, following a secret intimate ceremony over the weekend.

The news was confirmed by Instagram account Meals on Wheels America, although neither Johansson or Jost have yet publicly commented on the news.

"We’re thrilled to break the news that Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost were married over the weekend in an intimate ceremony with their immediate family and love ones, following Covid-19 safety precautions as directed by the CDC," the community organisation announced in an Instagram post. "Their wedding wish is to help make a difference for vulnerable older adults during this difficult time by supporting @mealsonwheelsamerica. The couple got engaged in May last year, after two years of dating. The actress first met Jost, who is a writer and comedian for Saturday Night Live, in 2017, after she made a guest appearance on the show.

This is the first marriage for Jost and third for Johansson. She was previously married to Ryan Reynolds (2008-2010) and Romain Dauriac (2014-2017). She has a daughter, six-year-old Rose, with Dauriac.

Johansson and Jost are the latest celebrities to choose to announce personal news via a charity or organisation that they feel passionately about, in order to help draw attention to their work and encourage fundraising; Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom announced the birth of their child via Unicef, while Amanda Seyfried and husband Thomas Sadoski confirmed the arrival of their baby via Inara and WarChild.
