This gizmo — down to under $5 a pop — clips to car vents for dunking chicken nuggets on the go

We are born with certain inalienable rights: Life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness, blah blah blah. One thing that should be added to the list? The right to dip nuggets while in the car without making a mess. Now there’s no reason to sacrifice the sauce thanks to the Saucemoto Dip Clip, a brilliant doodad with a universal mount that clips to your car’s air vents and is on sale now for just $9 for a 2-pack, down from $13. With all that holiday travel coming up soon, it's a great time to make all of those car trips easier and more enjoyable — all for just a few bucks.

The genius 5-in-1 sauce aperture can securely fit the four most commonly used sizes and shapes of sauce containers.

Why is this a good deal?

Sure, these little dip cups aren't expensive — nor should they be — but you know what is expensive? Having to get your car's interior cleaned after an on-the-go dipping mishap deposited barbecue sauce all over your car's carpet and seats. Instead of trying to juggle dipping sauce and food as you travel, which is a safety hazard in and of itself, why not keep your dip secure, stable and stationed at a convenient spot ready for enjoyment? At about $4.50 a pop, that peace of mind is money well spent.

Why do I need this?

The makers of the best invention ever (in my opinion, anyway) didn’t mess around. Wanting to make sure your sauce stayed secure even on bumpy rides, they painstakingly researched and tested to accommodate the four most common sizes and shapes of sauces from McDonald's, Burger King, Chick-fil-A, Wendy's, KFC, Dairy Queen, Jack in the Box, Arby's, Popeye's, Sonic, Carl's Jr., Hardee's and Heinz. And the mount that attaches to your vent uses 25 percent thicker metal usually found on vent mounts for a super-secure fit. Plus, big sauces can go in “landscape mode,” small ones in “portrait mode,” and circular ones will simply nestle inside.

I’m thrilled with this addition to life because I can’t count how many drive-throughs I’ve visited only to eat dry nuggets and ketchup-less fries because I didn’t want to risk sticky stuff spilling all over my seat. But I know what you’re thinking: If you’re in the front seat enjoying your dunkable feast and there are people in the back, how to ensure everyone stays sated? Have no fear — if you have vents in the backseat the Dip Clip will work there, too.

What reviewers say:

The Saucemoto Dip Clip is nice and easy, and so compact that you can store it in the glove compartment and whip it out when hunger strikes. As you can imagine, this amazingness has taken many a fast-food lover to new heights.

"I bought this for my granddaughter because she eats lunch in her vehicle," shared a savvy gifter. "She’s always complaining about being able to dip her french fries in her ketchup. These have made her so very happy. It was definitely worth the money to get these for her just to see her face light up when she talks about it."

Another reviewer raved that it "Really helps when I have to travel or in a rush from place to place and have to eat in the car!", with others adding that there's "no more trying to squirt ketchup on our fries, or getting sauce all over the car."

I'll leave you with my favorite Amazon review, because I couldn’t have said it better myself: "How did I go so long without one of these??? The Saucemoto was my first "TikTok Made Me Buy It" purchase and I have no regrets. It clips easily to my car's vent and the sauce cups clip in easily so I can dip and drive. No more trying not to dump the sauce by accident while steering with the same hand that's holding the dip cup. It even comes with a dip cup for those places that do the pouches for their sauces rather than the cups. (I'm looking at you, Arby's.) Ya know you end up squeezing the sauce onto the wrapper that's balanced on your lap and you end up getting some sauce on your steering wheel. OR you try the whole "wrapper and sauce on the passenger seat and try to dip while watching the road", which usually doesn't turn out so great. Anyway... I HIGHLY recommend you get one or two. I have two —one for me and one for my passenger."

You may have seen this revolution in dipping on Shark Tank, where several of the titular "Sharks" fought over the chance to invest in this brilliant invention. Now, it can be yours for less than $5 a pop.
