Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway was thrown into “chaos” tonight (April 1), with a guest stealing the show.

‘Ring My Bell’ has long been a source for mayhem on the ITV series, and tonight was no different when Cynthia made a name for herself.

After one live audience member stood up to fulfil their end of the bargain, the hosts tasked any neighbours to bring some dirty laundry to the front door, but Cynthia didn’t seem to understand the rules.

As she approached the camera at the front door, the duo and the live audience implored her to utter the words, but she didn’t seem to have the prop in her hand.

As other families on the street approached the house with their laundry, Ant and Dec begged her to move out of the way so they could award the other players, but Cynthia seemed intent on taking the limelight – either knowingly or unwittingly.

With everybody in stitches, Ant remarked that the moment was “pure chaos”, with users on social media thanking Cynthia for the moment.

“I’m in tears watching #SaturdayNightTakeaway - please can we put Cynthia on Celebrity Big Brother later this year? We make such good TV in the UK. @antanddec are still TV geniuses and it shows anything can happen on Live tv,” wrote one user on Twitter.

“Cynthia on #SaturdayNightTakeaway - that’s why we love a live entertainment show” wrote one user, whilst somebody else noted: “Cynthia has made my night. #SaturdayNightTakeaway #antanddec.”

Another user joked about the affair, referencing one of the other skits from the show, ‘I’m a Celebrity… Get Out Me Ear!’, writing: “Cynthia ring the doorbell again!!! Oh wait.”

Elsewhere on the show, Strictly: It Takes Two host Rylan Clark was the unfortunate recipient of Ant and Dec’s pranks on ‘Undercover’, whilst Busted performed for ‘The End of the Show-Show’.

The latest series of Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway will conclude next weekend (April 8) in ITV, with the live show taking place across the pond in Florida.
