We love a throwback picture, whether cringe or cute, we can't get enough. And now Sarah Michelle Gellar has shared the ultimate throwback picture with the internet's favourite man Pedro Pascal.

All the way back in 1999, a relatively unknown actor, who went by the name of Pedro Balmaceda, appeared in an episode of Buffy, alongside Sarah. Now of course we know him as Pedro Pascal, the star of Game of Thrones, The Mandalorian and The Last of Us but back then he made just a brief appearance as Eddie in episode 'The Freshman' in season four of Buffy.

On 28 February, Sarah shared an image on Instagram of herself with Pedro during a scene, and it's safe to say the internet is completely obsessed.

She captioned the picture: 'When #Mother met #Father', referencing the internet's nicknames for the pair.

Fans of Sarah and Pedro were shocked to see the picture, with many commenting that they hadn't realised Pedro had originally appeared in Buffy.

One person commented: 'Wait WHAT??!! Pedro Pascal was Eddie?!! Def did not put 2 and 2 together lol.'

Another agreed saying: 'THAT WAS PEDRO?!?!!!!????'

And another said: 'I’ve seen this how many times and JUST realised it’s Pedro.'

Many also commented to say they wish he had stayed in the series longer, as he is killed off in his episode 'The Freshman' from season four. In 'The Freshman' Buffy is seen arriving at UC Sunnydale where she initially struggles to make friends before connecting with Eddie.

However, shortly after they meet Eddie is attacked by a group of vampires and the next day Buffy is forced to kill him.

Can you imagine what would have happened if Eddie hadn't been turned into a vampire? Maybe Pedro would have been a leading man in Buffy? We can only dream.
