Sarah Jessica Parker to make her West End debut
Sarah Jessica Parker will be slipping out of her Manolo Blahniks for her next role, as she makes her West End debut early next year. The actress will appear alongside her husband Matthew Broderick in 'Plaza Suite' at the Savoy Theatre in London next January, a show that the couple has already appeared in on Broadway.
'Plaza Suite' is an adaptation of Neil Simon’s 1968 play, and sees the pair play three separate couples who all stay in one hotel room, suite 719 of the Plaza Hotel in New York.
The first couple is long-time married Karen and Sam Nash experiencing relationship strain, the second is high school sweethearts Muriel Tate and Jesse Kiplinger whose lives have taken different paths, and the third couple Norma and Roy Hubley are the mother and father of a bride refusing to leave the room's bathroom to attend her own wedding.
It is a very busy time for Parker, who has just wrapped the second season of the Sex and the City spin-off show And Just Like That… The series will be returning to our screens on 22 June, and will welcome back Kim Cattrall in a cameo role, while Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis will be back full time, making up the bulk of the main cast.
'Plaza Suite' opens at the Savoy Theatre, London, in January 2024.
