It's been all go since HBO confirmed that Sex and the City is returning to screens for revival series. Fans have been speculating about possible storylines, how long the limited series might be and, most importantly who in the original cast is returning for And Just Like That - the new series title.

While Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristen Davis have all been confirmed for the project it looks as though Kim Cattrall aka Samantha Jones (aka the best thing about the show) will not be involved. It's well known that she and Sarah Jessica Parker did not get on, plus, while Parker has always been vocal about wanting to do another series or film, Cattrall has made it repeatedly clear that she is done with SATC, saying during an interview in 2017, "[Samantha] is a great part. I played it past the finish line and then some, and I loved it. And another actress should play it. Maybe they could make it an African-American Samantha Jones, or a Hispanic Samantha Jones."

Amid the buzz surrounding the announcement, Parker spoke out about Cattrall's absence from the upcoming series responding to a comment on Instagram from a fan who suggested that Cattrall wouldn't be part of the project because the pair "dislike each other".

Replying to the comment Parker said, "no. I don't dislike her. I've never said that. Never would. Samantha isn't part of this story. But she will always be part of us. No matter where we are or what we do.

While fans have been speculating that the role may be recast this looks as though the character may not be included in the project altogether, although many fans commented on Parker's post saying they hope Samantha would be back and suggesting Sharon Stone for the role.
