San Antonio Zoo Offers Heartbroken The Chance To Feed 'Love Rats' To Snakes On Valentine's Day

San Antonio Zoo Offers Heartbroken The Chance To Feed 'Love Rats' To Snakes On Valentine's Day. Those who are feeling heartbroken this Valentine's Day have the opportunity to get their own back by feeding their ex to a python or Komodo dragon. Not literally of course, but San Antonio Zoo are giving scorned lovers the opportunity to name an actual rodent or cockroach after the love rat who's now happily out of your life. Every year for the Cry Me A Cockroach campaign the zoo's predators happily feast on insects or rats provided by those who've got unlucky in love and want a way to move on. As well as the popular cockroach and rodent options, this year there's a veggie option that will be fed to the zoo's herbivores. A cockroach will set you back $10, while for that really painful split a rodent will cost $25. Veg costs $5. As part of their donation, participants will receive a downloadable Valentine's Day card to share and a special Valentine's Day video featuring a zoo resident. On February 14, viewers can tune in live on the zoo's social media to watch the event unfold. In addition to getting back at that no-longer special someone, the alternative Valentine's treats also support vital wildlife conservation efforts at the zoo.
