Salcombe Gin has launched an exciting new tipple for Easter, one that tastes just like Easter eggs! The new Easterly gin combines citrus notes, hints of vanilla, cherry and a chocolatey finish; all designed to capture the classic flavours of the holiday.
The makers say the new gin will: "Take the drinker on a trip down memory lane to the fun and excitement of Easter treasure hunts."
Which sounds pretty good to us!
Good Housekeeping expert food and drink tester Mel Giandzi was certainly impressed by the tipple, telling us: "The new Easterly Gin from Salcombe Gin definitely reminds me of a Terry’s Chocolate Orange with its heady mix of cacao nibs and uplifting orange peel.
"It has a really lovely, zesty orange bite with a smooth and decadent chocolate taste. This well-balanced gin would be perfect in a classic G&T or perfectly paired with creamier additions to enhance its sweet flavours."
Carefully handcrafted in Salcombe, Devon, Easterly is distilled with organic cacao nibs, fresh orange peel, almond, coconut and vanilla to create the Easter egg taste. Then balanced with traditional Macedonian juniper, English coriander seed and orris root, all complemented with cherry and honey.
The brand's recommended serve is straight from the freezer over ice, topped with premium tonic and garnished with a twist of flamed orange peel to: "ignite the senses."
It certainly sounds like a fun seasonal take on the G&T, and another way to throw yourself into the spirit of things this Easter.
Salcombe Gin ‘Easterly’ (42% ABV) is available from www.salcombegin.com/shop, The Victuallers & John Lewis for RRP £37.50 per 50cl.
