Edinburgh Airport is now offering a Sainsbury's convenience store for travellers and employees following a major revamp.

The supermarket chain opened the doors to its local convenience store in Scotland's busiest airport yesterday (December 12). While Sainsbury's operates around 100 Scottish stores, this marks its first ever airport-based store.

Travellers will find the store located before they go through security in the former M&S Simply Food unit. It will also be open for 24 hours a day, serving those who are passing through both arrivals and departures at all hours of the day.

It will provide a variety of Sainsbury's convenience products including meal deals, fruit, veg and freshly baked goods. It's also said to feature a bespoke Scottish section that will showcase local favourites that passengers can pick up when visiting the country.

Customers can also take advantage of the new click & collect service, allowing them to order items from Argos, Habitat and Tu Clothing. There's also a team of 26 colleagues that support good causes that will benefit local communities.

“At the airport we’re always listening to the things our passengers are telling us, and providing they options they really want, so we’re confident this new addition will be a hugely popular choice. We look forward to working closely with Sainsbury’s on its success."
