SAG Awards 2021: Best dressed

The 2021 Screen Actors Guild Awards took place last night (4 April), continuing the string of award season ceremonies which have had to take place virtually this year. All the nominees and presenters attended via video link, accepting and awarding accolades from the comfort of their own homes, and congratulating each other (the SAG Award winners are voted for by their own peers) via screens.

However, the lack of a physical red carpet didn't mean that the fashion on show was any less celebratory - in fact, far from it. Stylists and celebrities have embraced the chance to dress up remotely for these events, staging photoshoots in their back gardens or nearby hotels. For this ceremony in particular, there was an emphasis on high glamour, with elegant gowns and a smattering of sequins, while many nominees and presenters also embraced bold, mood-boosting brights.

Pieces of a Woman star Vanessa Kirby opted for a Givenchy gown with a metallic silver bodice, paired with Cartier jewellery.

Award nominee Carey Mulligan wore a black skirt with a pale pink backless tunic layered over the top, both by Prada. Cartier jewellery provided the sparkling finishing touch.

Kerry Washington was effortlessly elegant in this embellished dress by Etro which came with a matching beaded swim cap. She finished the look with Bulgari jewellery and emphasised the aquatic theme by posting poolside.
