Update 17/8/21: Ryan Reynolds continues praise of Blake Lively for Free Guy Movie

After revealing that Blake Lively was the brains behind many of the jokes in his film scripts over the years, Ryan Reynolds has paid tribute to his wife for her 'creative' and 'emotional' contribution to his latest movie, Free Guy.

The film was released over the past few weeks starring Reynolds, Jodie Comer and Taika Waititi. Celebrating its box office reception and charting so far (the film took the number one spot in the US), Reynolds thanked a selection of people for their part in making their film.

Sharing an adorable photo of himself and Lively, where his wife of nine years is seen nestling into his neck as Reynolds smiles while at the beach, the father-of-three wrote: 'She was essential in every part of the making of this film, creatively and emotionally.'

Explaining that Free Guy wouldn't be the movie it is without the actresses' input, Reynolds also disclosed that a certain cameo moment in the film 'that everybody is talking about' also came courtesy of Lively.

The Rhythm Section star then re-shared her husband's tribute on her Instagram Stories with lots of adoring emojis included too.

Original story 9/8/21: Ryan Reynolds Reveals Blake Lively Has Covertly Written Lines For His Movies

Ryan Reynolds has revealed that his wife of many talents, Blake Lively, has contributed lines, jokes and more to his film scripts over the years.

Asked by a fan what is the best thing about being married to the actress - that people might not expect - Reynolds explained how she has contributed to, without credit, several of his film projects.

Explaining how he often contributes to his own scripts - both credited and uncredited - the father-of-three told SiriusXM: 'There is a lot of A++ writing that I've done that was actually Blake. Blake would jump in, grab the keyboard and write "What about this?" and I'd be like: "That's incredible."'

Reynolds elaborated that he has requested that his wife of nine years be given the credit she deserves for script additions, but that it hasn't proved fruitful.

'You know it's funny, maybe it's because there's inherent sexism in the business, because I will say a lot of the times, "she wrote that, Blake wrote that, not me, that was her" and they still later on repeat the story as if I wrote it.'

Singing his wife's praises once more, Reynolds specified that some lines in his films like Deadpool have been the work of Lively.

'She's a really talented, multi-hyphenate kind of person in this weird burgoo [stew] of an entertainment industry we work in and she's helped me so much in Deadpool, all kinds of movies that have been big successes, she's always got a lot of bricks in that well.'

What a couple, trolling each other and shouting about one another's talents in equal measure.
